| The 2nd Annual $25,000 Florida Lobster Challenge was a huge success with 71 official entries and over 140 lbs. of lobsters weighing in. The last hour of official weigh in on Thursday was a roller coaster ride for the winner board. The scales closed at 5pm and everyone got ready for the awards ceremony held at Jupiter's own The Crab House. The Crab House went out of their way to prepare a delicious buffet that was enjoyed by all. | | | After the feeding frenzy subsided, the winners were given their just dues. Of special note was the 1st place winner Gerald Weisenseel who also won one of the door prize of honorary bat boy/girl at Roger Dean Stadium and promptly gave it away to a worthy recipient. That good deed will serve him well on his week long Dive Aboard Dive Trip from Peter Huges Diving. No one claimed the Grand Prize of $ 25,000 dollars for a lobster 16lbs or more, so all eyes are looking towards next year! The Florida Lobster Challenge donates all proceeds to charities each year. The 2004 tournament benefited The Marine Life Center of Juno Beach. |
